NEW DE-9 FORM FOR CALIFORNIA EMPLOYERS
FOR THE PRINTED FORM:
• Click on State Taxes on Command Center
• Select “CA DE-9 Form” radio button
• In the setup screen,
** Depending on how you setup your SDI, you will find the total you need either in the Local Taxes report or the Deductions report. Select the periods of the quarter and view the report to get the “SDI Taxable wages” for that period. Enter in the “SDI Taxable wages for the quarter” field.
** Enter the total amount paid to the state for PIT, SDI, SUTA, & ETT in the “Contributions and Withholdings paid for the quarter” field.
• If any of the other fields in this setup window apply to your situation, please fill in the appropriate field or check the appropriate box to have it show on the form.
• When you click OK, the form will come up on the screen, check it for accuracy, then print. Both the DE-9 & DE-9c will print.
FOR THE ELECTRONIC FORM:
• The two forms, DE-9 and DE-9c are saved in different formats and will be filed separately.
• For the DE-9, select ‘CA DE-9 XML’ in the drop down list and select this 4th radio button, then click Text File.
• In the setup screen,

• When you click OK, you get a SAVE dialog box. Navigate to where you wish to save the file. Make sure you put it somewhere easy to get to for uploading to EDD.
• For the DE-9C, select ‘CA DE-9C MMREF’ in the drop down list and select this 4th radio button, then click Text File. Enter any applicable information on the setup window and click OK.
• When you click OK, you get a SAVE dialog box. Navigate to where you wish to save the file. Make sure you put it somewhere easy to get to for uploading to EDD.
