Home / CheckMark MultiLedger, Miscellaneous / Get error message that you have entered a date that is not valid when trying to enter a new transaction.

Get error message that you have entered a date that is not valid when trying to enter a new transaction.

There are a couple of reasons you may receive this message.

  1. MultiLedger allows you to have 30 months (version 7.X) or 15 months (version 6.0.X) open at a time. If you receive an Invalid Date message when trying to save a transaction in a new month, check the Company Information window to see what the last month is in which you can make entries. If you’ve reached that month, you will need to implement your close year procedure.Note: Once a year has been closed it cannot be opened again without restoring a backup. Be sure to read the instructions in your MultiLedger manual or view the online tutorial for important information before closing the year.

2. You may have ‘locked’ months. You can ‘unlock’ months by opening the Company Information window and clicking on the highlighted date. When you close the window, Save the changes when prompted.
