This message indicates one of two things that can be easily checked by you.
- Check to be sure that you are running the latest version of CheckMark Payroll. Select Check for Latest Version in the Help menu. This does require an internet connection. Since payroll is based on a calendar year, an annual update is required to print W-2/W-3 information for the prior payroll year using the blank sheet method. If necessary, purchase the payroll update to print your W-2/W-3 information on blank pre-perforated sheets. Printing on pre-printed forms is always available for any payroll year. If you are already running the latest version, continue to the next step.
- Check the payroll year of the data set you currently have open. This can be done by either opening Company Information from the Command Center or by looking at the payroll year displayed in the lower left-hand portion of the Command Center. If the payroll year does not coincide with the prior payroll year, you will need to go under File/Year and select the correct payroll year or choose File/Close Company, then, File/Open Company, navigate to that years’ archived location and open the data set to print the W-2/W-3 information.
