In Payroll version 7.7 and higher, the file format can be read on both Mac and Windows platforms.

• • After installing the payroll application on your Windows computer, simply open your payroll program and data files, make a Zip file backup (File/Backup Company) and save to an external media source that is readable by both platforms such as a flash drive.

• • On the Windows computer, launch the payroll program and restore the backup archive (using the Restore Backup command under File) from the external media source to a location on your computer that you specify.

Note: Older data sets can be transferred the same way as long as they are first opened in Payroll version 7.7 or higher on the Mac before moving to the Windows platform. To convert an older data set to version 7.7 payroll format, simply open the data set in the current payroll version and click Yes when prompted.

Note: You can return to using Payroll on a Mac computer by completing the same steps from the PC back to the Mac computer.
