There is an ‘X’ printing on my W-3 in box 15, what does that mean?

The ‘X’ means that you do withholding in your payroll company for more than one state. The program prints the ‘X’ as specified in the IRS Instructions for Forms W-2 and W-3. A copy of this publication can be downloaded from the IRS web site.
