Payroll creates a Default Payroll Company Database when you initially open the program, in the following path: HDCheckMarkPayroll[year]Default_Payroll_Company_Database_[year]
You can create multiple databases. Each database can contain multiple companies or you can create a new database for each company.
When you create multiple companies in one database, there are three functions that will affect ALL companies within that database.
One of those functions is Create Backup. When you Create a Backup for one company in the Database, it creates for all of them in that particular Database. Restore Backup is another function that will restore ALL companies in that database. The last one is going to the New Year, when you do New year in one company, all companies in that database will go to the new year, HOWEVER, when you go to the new year, it creates a new database for the new year, so you can still access the prior year for any company in the old database.
